In early May, the backyard is aflame with golden California Poppies
(Eschscholzia californica) and pink Checkerbloom (Sidalcea malvaeflora)

In late June, orange Sticky Monkeyflower (Mimulus aurantiacus) blooms
contrast with the pink blossoms of Ruby Chalice Clarkia (Clarkia rubicunda)
