The October, 2000, fire near the
Penitencia Creek Road entrance to Alum Rock Park. Embers were
flying about on Chula Vista Court and Canon Vista Drive well above the
conflagration near the Park.
Residents hosed their roofs all along Dorel and El Grande. One home
burned to the ground!
Even folks on Rock Canyon Circle were battling ember-started fires on
their properties.
This is how it looked the next morning - the firemen are still there to be sure it doesn't get started again
