south-facing side of the Friendship Gate. This massive
gateway is just one of the large scale monuments in Overfelt Park’s Chinese
Cultural Garden. The
characters over the center say, “Under Heaven, One Family.” The smaller gate to
the right announces
that “Those who live here are happy and contented.” The left portal welcomes
people from far away.
The north-facing side of the gate carries a different set of inscriptions which
convey other concepts.
